César Manrique
The celebrated architect and artist César Manrique still has a major influence on the islands architecture and construction policy. César Manrique did not want Lanzarote to become as the typical tourist resorts in Spain. He has managed by law that no high buildings can be built and as a result Lanzarote has kept an idyllic atmosphere.
